Convergent Pokémon

Wiglett and Wugtrio are garden-eel Pokémon, while their Diglett counterparts are mole-like. Their similar burrowing silhouettes do not represent a regional transformation.

The mole family has Ground typing, whereas the eel-like Wiglett family uses Water.

Toedscool and Toedscruel have fungus-based land ecology; Tentacool and Tentacruel are aquatic jellyfish-like species. The resemblance does not connect their evolution lines.

Tentacool combines Water and Poison, contrasting with Toedscool’s Ground/Grass typing.

Poltchageist and Sinistcha use matcha and their own vessels. They are separate from the possessed-tea Sinistea family; their authenticity forms require the matching evolution item, not a change into the other species.

Sinistea evolves with a Cracked Pot or Chipped Pot, according to its authenticity form; it does not use Poltchageist’s teacups.
