Gigantamax Pokémon

Gigantamax changes both size and appearance, unlike ordinary Dynamax. In Sword and Shield, compatible Pokémon need the Gigantamax Factor; most eligible species can gain it through Max Soup in The Isle of Armor.

Max Soup is a Sword/Shield mechanic and cannot give Melmetal the Gigantamax Factor; its special HOME gift provides that capability. GO uses its own Max Battle and G-Max Move system rather than Max Soup. A shared-looking Gigantamax body does not merge the original species or form identities.

Gigantamax forms

Pokémon: 34

The transformation is temporary; Eternamax is a separate phenomenon. Urshifu’s two styles have different Gigantamax bodies, and its Max Soup preparation also requires Max Honey.
