Frequently Asked Questions

Use the Pokédex tracker for “Have I caught this Pokémon?” It is a quick checklist for completing a game's Pokédex. You do not need to record individual Pokémon or arrange boxes. A Pokémon can stay registered even after you evolve it, trade it away or move it to another game.

Use the box organizer for “What do I have, what am I missing, and where does it belong?” You can plan a layout, keep separate entries for duplicates and variants, and record details about each Pokémon. A Living Dex is a collection where you keep one of every Pokémon at the same time. The organizer also works for smaller goals, such as a shiny collection or one game's regional dex.

For example, catching Bulbasaur and evolving it all the way to Venusaur can complete three Pokédex entries. A Living Dex needs a Bulbasaur, an Ivysaur and a Venusaur kept separately.

Use both if you want both kinds of progress. Use just the tracker for a simple checklist, or just boxes for a visual collection plan. You do not have to maintain both manually to use PokéPC.

1. Create an account or sign in, then open My PC.
2. Choose Add Game Save, select your game and enter its trainer details.
3. Open the save's card to find its Pokédex trackers, or choose Boxes to open its organizer. Games without box storage show Open instead.

A “game save” on PokéPC is your collection record for an adventure. You do not upload a console save file. PokéPC does not connect to your Nintendo account, read Pokémon HOME or automatically track what happens in your game. You update your records here as you play.

Keep separate saves for separate playthroughs or collections. A HOME save is useful for planning a collection that brings Pokémon together from several games.

Saving caught Pokémon in boxes also registers them in the matching Pokédexes for that same game save, including the appropriate regular or shiny progress. Pokémon outside those Pokédexes do not add a new entry to their checklists.

The connection works in one direction: ticking a Pokédex entry does not create a Pokémon in your boxes. Clearing a Pokémon's caught status in boxes or removing it does not erase its existing Pokédex registration. If you want to clear that registration too, change it in the tracker.

Different game saves keep their own progress. This is not automatic synchronization with your games or between every collection on your account.

1. Open your game save's Boxes. Add the Pokémon you want to collect, or use a preset to fill out a layout for you.
2. Leave missing Pokémon without a Poké Ball. They are planned entries, so you can see what belongs in each slot before you have caught it.
3. When you obtain one, open Pokémon Tools → Pokéball, choose a ball, then click or tap that Pokémon to mark it caught. Choose Green Ball if you only want a checklist, or its actual ball if you want to record that detail.
4. Choose Save to keep your changes.

An empty slot has no Pokémon planned. A Pokémon without a ball is an item on your to-do list. A Pokémon with a ball is one you have marked as caught or boxed. Adding a shiny marker alone does not mark it caught.

To mark it missing again, apply the same ball a second time. This keeps the planned Pokémon in place. Release Pokémon removes the entry entirely.

Yes. In the organizer's Settings, choose Apply a Box Preset to use an available prepared layout, or Generate Box Preset to choose your own ordering, forms and regular/shiny arrangement. The choices depend on the game.

When generating a layout for a collection you have already started, choose Reuse what I have to retain your existing Pokémon and their details. Matches go into the layout and extra Pokémon go after it. Rewrite all boxes (or Rewrite all storage) replaces the current contents with fresh entries.

Review the result before choosing Save. Undo discards the pending changes if the layout is not what you wanted. A preset still needs to fit the game's capacity and your account's storage allowance; planned, uncaught entries count toward that allowance too.

• Pokédex tracker: caught marks and tracking settings save automatically.
• Box organizer: choose Save after editing Pokémon, changing caught status, moving entries or applying presets. Saving inside the Pokémon Editor adds your edit to the pending collection; you still need to save the collection itself.
• Profile Wish and Offering boxes: edits save automatically.

In the organizer, Undo discards all unsaved collection changes, returning to the last saved version. On narrow screens, find Undo all pending changes in Settings. Resetting the current tool only stops using that tool; it does not undo your edits. Wait for saving to finish before leaving the page.

In a Pokédex tracker, Shiny Mode switches between independent regular and shiny checklists. Marking a shiny does not also check off the regular version. The Poké Ball Actions menu offers Track Forms and Track Cosmetic Forms to choose what counts toward completion.

In boxes, use Pokémon Tools → Shiny Marker on an entry, or choose a shiny arrangement when generating a preset. If you are collecting both versions, keep a separate entry for each. Set a ball on each Pokémon you actually have; the shiny flag and caught status are separate.

Forms and editing options vary by game. A form that exists in the Pokémon reference may not be available in that game's organizer, and shiny presets skip or leave gaps for unreleased shinies.

Continuous view shows Pokémon in a gapless grid without box headings or empty slots. Planned Pokémon still appear. Games with individual boxes also offer a boxed layout in Display Options; games with one continuous storage collection use the continuous layout.

The available tools follow the game and view. If a move or add tool is unavailable, switch back to boxed view where offered, or clear an active sort. Sorting in continuous view changes the displayed order without rearranging your saved storage.

Use Settings → Download boxes as preset to export a reusable layout, and Import custom preset to load compatible PokéPC preset JSON. Review the imported layout and choose Save to keep it.

A box preset describes a layout; it is not a complete backup of your account or every Pokémon's personal details. It is also different from importing a Classic Living Dex, which has its own migration flow.

These are optional lists on your trainer profile:

• Wish Box 💫: Pokémon you are looking for, such as a version exclusive or a shiny you would like to trade for.
• Offering Box 🎁: Pokémon you want other trainers to know you can offer, such as spare starters or duplicate shinies.

Open your own profile while signed in to add or edit entries. Each box holds up to 30 Pokémon and saves changes automatically. These profile lists are separate from your game-save boxes and Pokédex progress. Adding an offer does not move a Pokémon out of your collection, reserve it for someone or carry out a trade. Update your lists when your wishes or offers change.

Your profile boxes show your ongoing interests. Global Link is for finding or hosting an online session for a supported game and activity, such as a trade, battle or co-op play. A trade post has its own offers and wishes, which you review while creating it.

You can browse posts without an account. To join and reveal a connection code, sign in and choose a compatible game save. To host, create a post and go live when you are ready. Enter the connection code in your game; the trade or activity takes place there, not inside PokéPC.

Share the link to your trainer profile, game save, Pokédex tracker or boxes. Other people can browse collections they are allowed to see, but cannot edit your progress.

Check Settings → Privacy before sharing. Public activity is visible to anyone, Protected activity is for signed-in users, and Private activity is visible only to you. This setting also controls access to your game saves and their trackers. Sending a link does not override it.

Your basic profile identity, including your username, display name, avatar and bio, remains public. Do not put private information in your bio or public posts.

Start by signing in with the email address you used on the Classic site, and confirm the emailed link or code. Returning Classic users can access PokéPC this way; you do not need to start with an empty, unrelated account. Complete your trainer profile if prompted, then open My PC and look for Classic Living Dexes.

If you already have a separate PokéPC account, or your old data does not appear, sign in to the PokéPC account you want to keep. Open Settings → Linked Apps, choose Link next to SuperEffective.gg, enter your Classic email and confirm the verification code. Then return to My PC.

Connecting the account makes your Classic dexes available to open and migrate. It does not mean every Classic dex has already been converted into a new PokéPC game save.

1. Open My PC and find the dex under Classic Living Dexes.
2. Choose Migrate. Open takes you to the original on the Classic site instead.
3. Choose regular boxes, shiny boxes, or both if they fit. Enter the trainer details and game language for the new save.
4. Decide whether to Register caught Pokémon in Pokédexes, and choose the ball used for imported caught Pokémon.
5. Confirm Migrate, then review the new game save and its boxes.

The import creates a new PokéPC game save. It does not replace an existing save or delete the Classic original, and later changes are not synchronized between the two sites. Continue editing the version you intend to maintain.

First check that the correct SuperEffective.gg account is connected in Linked Apps. If a verification is pending, finish it using the email sent to your Classic address. An account that is already linked elsewhere needs that existing account connection resolved first.

Migration needs room for another game save, enough storage under your plan, and a layout that fits the destination game's capacity. Importing regular and shiny boxes separately may be necessary when the combined layout is too large; each import creates its own save.

The Classic service also needs to be reachable. If a linked collection unexpectedly disappears from the list, try again later. If an import reports an error, check My PC for a newly created save before retrying. For persistent problems, ask for help with the error and Classic dex link.

No. The Pokédex trackers, core box organizer and all supported games are available on the Free plan. Patreon memberships support PokéPC and add higher limits and extra editing conveniences.

See Membership Plans for the current Free, Great Trainer and Ultra Trainer allowances, and Settings → Membership for your own benefits and usage. The game's storage capacity and your plan's stored-Pokémon allowance are separate limits. Planned Pokémon in boxes count as stored entries even before you mark them caught.

1. Open Membership Plans, choose a paid tier and follow its Patreon link to join. If you already have an active membership, you can skip this step.
2. Sign in to the PokéPC account you already use, so your collection stays together.
3. Open Settings → Linked Apps and choose Link Patreon. Authorize using the Patreon account that holds your membership.
4. Return to Settings → Membership to check your benefits.

Linking a Patreon account and paying for a membership are separate steps. Linking a free Patreon account alone does not activate paid benefits. You do not need to create another PokéPC account just because you subscribed.

Choose Continue with Patreon on the sign-up page, authorize the Patreon account with your membership, and finish setting up your trainer profile. You can also create an account with email first, then link Patreon from Settings.

If you have already used PokéPC or Classic, follow the existing-account steps above first so you can keep using the account connected to your collections.

Check Linked Apps to confirm that Patreon is connected to the PokéPC account you are currently using. On Patreon, check that you have an active paid membership for PokéPC and that you authorized the correct Patreon account.

Then open Membership settings. If it asks you to Reconnect Patreon, use that action to authorize again. If it says verification is temporarily unavailable, PokéPC will retry as you use the site; your linked account and saved collections are kept.

If the problem continues, contact us through Discord. Do not post payment details, email verification codes or other private account information in public feedback.

Your saved data stays yours. A downgrade does not delete or hide existing saves, remove Pokémon, or erase saved ribbons, marks, box titles or colors.

The lower plan's limits apply to new additions and paid editing actions. Existing over-limit collections remain accessible; you can save them without increasing the stored Pokémon count, or reduce that count. Some customization controls require paid access to change again.

Manage or cancel billing on Patreon, using Manage your subscription in Membership settings. Unlinking Patreon from PokéPC does not cancel your Patreon subscription. A one-time donation is also separate from a recurring membership and does not automatically activate its benefits.

On Sign in, enter your PokéPC username or account email. Use the link or verification code sent to your registered email address. If the message does not arrive, check spam, confirm the address you used, and use Resend when the page allows it. Request a fresh code if yours has expired.

You can also use a passkey you have registered, or a linked Patreon account. Manage passkeys in Settings → Security and your email in Settings → Email. If you can no longer use any of your sign-in methods, ask for help before creating another account.

• Check that you opened the right game save, Pokédex and regular/shiny mode.
• Clear search and display filters. In the Pokédex tracker, Hide Caught deliberately hides completed entries; use Show All to see them again.
• Check whether Track Forms or Track Cosmetic Forms changes the checklist you are counting.
• In boxes, confirm that the Pokémon has a ball recorded and that you chose Save. A planned entry is not the same as a caught Pokémon.

Pokédex totals and box counts answer different questions: a dex counts its registered entries, while boxes can contain duplicates, planned Pokémon and Pokémon outside that regional dex. Check the game reference for its Pokédexes and Pokémon availability. An event-listed Pokémon may depend on a past event, rather than an event running today.

Choose Take a Tour on My PC or Global Link. Inside a Pokédex tracker or box organizer, find it in Settings. You can replay these tours, and their examples leave your collection unchanged. The Living Dex guide is also available without signing in.

The Catch of the Day suggestions and shiny chain counter on My PC are optional collecting aids. Use them for inspiration or to count a hunt's encounters; neither connects to your game nor guarantees a shiny. You can keep using your trackers and boxes without using these tools.

Open Menu → Issues & Feedback to use the feedback tool:

1. Choose Search and filters, search for your problem or idea, and select Apply filters. If someone has already reported it, sign in to vote or add useful details in a comment.
2. To create a post, choose Submit Feedback and sign in if prompted. Select Issue / Bug, Improvement, New Feature, Help or Other as the feedback type.
3. Add a clear Title and Details. For a bug, include the page and game, the steps to reproduce it, what you expected, what happened, your browser/device, and any exact error message.
4. Choose the affected Website (Modern or Classic PokéPC), then Submit feedback. You can return to your post to read comments and check its status.

Feedback posts are public, so keep private account and payment details out of your report.
